Gerardo, is passionate about sports, he studied industrial engineering and has a master’s degree in finance in Mexico City. He started a frozen food business with his family in 1999, held the CEO position and sold and exited the company in 2020. He is now the founder and CEO of play hydrated, a company that creates zero sugar sports drinks.

In this episode, Gerardo shares with us the criticality of only aligning with Investors and team members that completely align with your mission and vision as well as your values. The WHY has to align it you can expect to have a culture of passion and ownership.

He shares with us his marketing strategy and how he positioned his company to be the disrupter in the sports drink space. His uniques value proposition was very intentionally created and positioning in his space is also very intentional and well thought out.

Gerardo also shares some lessons learned around hiring and firing and the rule “Slow to hire, quick to fire”.
