In this episode we have the pleasure of interviewing Lynn Perenic, she is the CEO of Argent Tape and label and Argent international. started her career as a teacher in the Hazel Park School District in Michigan; where she taught elementary and special education high school for 20 years. She holds a B.S.Ed. and Master of Arts and Teaching.
In 2010, Lynn bought Argent Tape and Label for a dollar, at the time the company was in dire straights., Argent Tape and Label has won many awards since the acquisition in 2010, listing among them are top 50 Businesses to watch in MI, The All Star Award (2x) for being the best of the best in businesses practicing Open Book Management, Crain’s Cool Places to Work and was a finalist in the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of The Year award. Lynn is now managing Argent Tap and Label and she just become the majority owner of Argent International and between eh two companies they are doing about $40M a year in revenue.
Lynn shares with us her major keys to success. One of which revolves around implementing an open book management style system, teaching the entire team about financial literacy and helping them think, feel and act like owners.
Lynn shared how implementing this type of operational program has resulted in her entire team constantly looking for ways to drive improvements…all the time. Everyone from the bottom to the top is heavily involved and passionate about the success of the company and they all take part in the sharing of profit gains made, which is a great motivator.
