BattlBox Journey – $27M Recurring Revenue Subscription Model

This show is made with one purpose, to help you create an autonomous and engaged high performance organization. Where we deliver you proven strategies and expert interviews on how to drive significant profit growth, create an ownership culture and give you the time freedom you always wanted from your business.

In this episode we have the pleasure of interviewing John Roman on the show, and John is the CEO of Battle Box and Carnivore Club, both very successful online subscription model businesses.

John actually started his career out as a professional poker player, got tired of taking everyone’s money and went into IT services and consulting. From there John Co-Founded BattleBox and took on initially a limited role with BattleBox…supposed to be just a few hours a week and it quickly turned into being the CEO and driving the steering wheel.

That was 8 years ago and he hasn’t looked back with over $27M in annual sales.

In today’s podcast session, John shares with us his journey as a Co-Founder and scaling BattlBox to what it is today.

We talk about his 2 secrets to be able to get so many eyeballs on his product as well as his secret to getting very impressive margins in this space.

John also shares with us some of his ecommerce lessons learned that shut 100% of the revenue down for almost a week, and how they were able to bounce back quickly and with a vengeance. He also talks about some critical considerations for an e-commerce to survive going into a recessionary period.
