Where we deliver you proven strategies and expert interviews on how to drive significant profit growth, create an ownership culture and give you the time freedom you always wanted from your business.

In this episode we have the pleasure of interviewing Kyle Ewing on the show, and Kyle is the CEO of TerraSlate Paper.

Kyle Ewing transitioned from a corporate career to entrepreneurship in 2014 after founding Guerrilla Tags ID Systems, which he exited in 2015. He now leads TerraSlate Paper, producing waterproof paper for various industries, including the military and biotech firms. Kyle collaborates with entrepreneurs and venture capitalists in tech and renewable resources, leveraging his experience in supply chain management, analytics, and business operations.

Before entrepreneurship, Kyle was a Senior Supply Chain Manager at Brightstar Corporation, focusing on supply chain optimization and data analytics, particularly in the wireless phone industry. He has also worked in procurement, marketing analysis, and business consulting.

Kyle shares with us 3 absolute golden nuggets with us about why his business has been so successful. The first is that he has been able to craft his desired culture by using a psychometric tool called “The Culture Index”. This tool has allowed them to identify the exact personality and behaviors that they need for every position in the company. Next they then have potential candidates take the test and it very accurately identifies who would be a best fit for this position, working with the others on their team and their overall culture.

Next he shares how critical having a formal operating system has been for them. This has allowed them to have aligned goals, initiatives, structured meetings and KPI’s for each division and team member. This has led to continuous improvement and accountability across the board.

Lastly, Justin discusses how important it is to NOT compete on price, offer discounts or sell on cost plus basis.
